Gajar ka halwa

Gajar ka halwa can be made with red carrots as well as the common orange ones. But I would suggest you for the red carrots. They are more tastier than the orange carrots. So make best use of the season and indulge in this pudding. Again, my husband likes this halwa way too much and finished the entire thing in two gos'. 😁
Ingredients:

Carrot: 1 cup, grated
Clarified butter/ Ghee: 2 tbsp
Milk: 1 cup
Cardamom powder: 1 tsp
Sugar: 10-12 tbsp

Method:


  1. Take a pan and heat ghee in it.
  2. Add grated red carrot and saute for 5 mins till the rawness of carrot goes away.
  3. Now add milk and let it cook on slow flame.
  4. Add cardamom powder and sugar.
  5. Cook till the ghee separates from the pan and garnish with dry fruits.
  6. Serve hot or add a scoop of vanilla ice-cream and serve it.
