Pepper chicken Karnataka style

 


For those rainy evenings when your mouth starts tickling to have some spicy and tasty food, this is the best dish you can make easily. Pepper chicken is loaded with edible amount of spice and it goes well with rice and rotis. And if you are like me, you can have it just like that. 😉

I can go on and on about this yummy recipe, but please don't waste your time, go and make this.

Ingredients:

Chicken- 1/2 kg
Onions- 1, medium, chopped
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 3 tbsp
Salt- accordingly
Red chili powder- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves- fistful

For gravy paste:

Grated fresh coconut/ desiccated coconut- 1 tbsp
Cinnamon- 2
Cloves- 10
Peppercorns- 10
Green chilies- 2
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp

Method:
  1. Wash the chicken and keep aside.
  2. Take all the ingredients of gravy paste, blend them adding some water and keep aside.
  3. Heat a pan, add some oil and add chopped onions.
  4. Saute till they become brown in colour.
  5. Now add the gravy paste.
  6. Fry till the oil leaves the sides of the pan.
  7. Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder.
  8. Add around 150 ml of water, fistful of coriander leaves and mix well.
  9. When the water comes to a boil, lower the flame and cook till all the water is evaporated and chicken is soft.
  10. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
