Pepper chicken Karnataka style
I adapted this recipe from @thissumptuouslife She has an amazing collection of recipes. I
Ingredients:
Chicken- 1/2 kg
Onions- 1, medium, chopped
Turmeric powder- 1/2 tsp
Oil- 3 tbsp
Salt- accordingly
Red chili powder- 1 tsp
Coriander leaves- fistful
For gravy paste:
Grated fresh coconut/ desiccated coconut- 1 tbsp
Cinnamon- 2
Cloves- 10
Peppercorns- 10
Green chilies- 2
Ginger garlic paste- 1 tbsp
Method:
- Wash the chicken and keep aside.
- Take all the ingredients of gravy paste, blend them adding some water and keep aside.
- Heat a pan, add some oil and add chopped onions.
- Saute till they become brown in colour.
- Now add the gravy paste.
- Fry till the oil leaves the sides of the pan.
- Add salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder.
- Add around 150 ml of water, fistful of coriander leaves and mix well.
- When the water comes to a boil, lower the flame and cook till all the water is evaporated and chicken is soft.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
