Coconut halwa
I just love coconuts. Give me coconuts any day any time, I am going to have them. Instead of making chutneys and coconut rice, I thought of making a sweet out of it. This yummilicious dessert is a must try. Load it with dry fruits of your choice and impress your loved ones.
Preparation time: 10 minutes
Cooking time: 20 minutes
Ingredients:
Grated coconut: 1 cup
Sugar: 1/2 cup
Milk: 100 ml
Ghee/ clarified butter: 3 tbsp
Cardamom powder: 1 tsp
Saffron strands: 4-5 soaked in 2 tbsp warm milk
Method:
- Grate the coconut and keep aside.
- Heat a pan, add ghee and roast some dry fruits. Keep them aside.
- Now add some more ghee and saute the grated coconut till it turns golden brown.
- Add milk and sugar and let it cook on slow flame.
- Add cardamom powder and saffron milk.
- When the ghee starts to separate, take it in a serving bowl and garnish with dry fruits.
